We are retained by one of the UK’s leading independent Builders Merchants who due to continued success in the UK market place are seeking to recruit an experienced Yard Person to join their team in West Sussex.

You will be an experienced forklift driver for both Counterbalance and Combi-lift. Working closely with the team and having a conscientious attitude towards stock, equipment, and vehicles. Managing the loading and delivery of building materials with a friendly ‘can do attitude’. A highly motivated individual with the ability and desire to make a difference, and also passionate about providing an exceptional customer experience.                                         

Roles & Responsibilities

• Checking incoming stock deliveries and put away in the appropriate location.
• Ensure all discrepancies are identified.
• Picking goods for outgoing orders.
• Follow company procedures to action any nil stock accordingly.
• Prepare for and carry out regular Stock takes in accordance with the company stock take procedure.
• Ideally, be able to operate Fork Lift Truck
• General Housekeeping
• Assisting customers
• Storing and maintaining completed purchase orders and finance statistics via an ad-hoc system.
