Our Client is one of the UK’s leading independent specialist distributors of Construction Materials who due to continued success are seeking to recruit an Internal Sales Executive to join their team in Leicestershire.

Overview of the role

• An exciting opportunity for an exceptional individual with experience in builders’ merchants trade sales to help grow branch customer business.
• Working directly for the Branch Manager, you will be a key member of a small branch sales team and directly influence the direction and success of the branch and the organisation

Responsibilities

• Answering inbound calls
• Making outbound sales calls
• Negotiating with customers
• Negotiating with suppliers
• Purchasing stock for the business
• Winning new business
• Maintaining existing business with excellent service
• Working with customers to accommodate their needs
• Restocking shop shelves and tidying up
• Cashing up at the end of the day
• Reporting to manager for sales meetings
• Identifying new lines of stock
• Understand customer requirements, and where items not ordinarily stocked (i.e. B2B specials) then source the product from the supplier and complete the sale

Qualifications & Skills

• A creative, ambitious, customer focused sales person with builders’ merchants experience and good building products knowledge
• Experience in serving and growing existing customers spend and identifying and growing new customers and speaking with suppliers
• A Self-starter who is independent, hands on and organised
• Good interpersonal, communication and sales skills with customers and suppliers face to face, on the telephone and by email
• Comfortable working in a casual but motivated small team environment
