Job Description

The Company   

Our Client is recruiting a Purchasing Assistant. This role will include dealing with existing, and prospecting for new clients

Our Client is a specialist provider of insulation, drywall and associated products and consultancy to the construction industry in Ireland and the UK, with 34 years’ experience in Ireland they are the market leader and is experiencing substantial growth in a changing market, where demands for higher insulation standards and increases in construction output are growing. Markets include construction/development companies, SME builders, dry-lining companies, cladding companies, roofing companies, off-site house builders and energy companies.

DUTIES:                               

Monitor and maintain optimal stock levels and identify purchasing needs. Track orders and ensure timely delivery from suppliers

Responsible for deliveries to our Client’s sites on a daily basis (dealing with suppliers, freight forwarders and hauliers). Liaising with the warehouse staff to ensure all products arrive in a timely manner and in good condition

Handling bespoke enquiries (sourcing material, negotiating prices, arranging delivery) and dealing with all sales teams (advising on availability and delivery dates of stock)

Communicate all delivery discrepancies to suppliers and follow through to resolution

Administration work for the purchasing team (raising goods-in paperwork, entering purchase orders, checking acknowledgements, altering prices, altering delivery dates, changing guide prices)

Follow all safe systems of work at all times.  Identify and report any shortcomings that become apparent whilst undertaking tasks or if the tasks change or new activities are undertaken.

Actively engage in the identification of risks within the workplace and the subsequent assessment development of suitable safe systems of work.  When necessary, intervene to prevent breaches of health and safety and/or report as necessary

Follow the requirements of the Company Quality Management Systems, policies and procedures to help achieve a quality product for the customer and reduce the non-conformances

Follow the requirements of the Company Environmental Management System to assist the Company’s objective to reduce the detrimental effect on the environment by way of waste management and any other areas to improve the environmental impact

 

INFORMAL JOB DESCRIPTION / BRIEF DESCRIPTION:      

Working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Assisting with the purchasing and calling in of goods from our suppliers.

Building the loads for Uxbridge, calling the material in from the suppliers, tracing back to back orders, and organising transfers between sites, all through the use of stock master, excel, and outlook.
