The Opportunity

As part of our Client’s growth plans, they are looking for an individual who is well established in the area of KEY ACCOUNT SALES and has experience in selling products to the DIY / RETAIL SECTOR in the DACH REGION. This is an opportunity for an ambitious sales professional to enhance their career with the support of a highly regarded and rapidly growing brand.

 

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

As HEAD OF SALES, you will be responsible for generating new business and developing relationships with key target customers within the DIY & RETAIL sector.

Key Responsibilities – Essential Job Functions:

  • Present and sell our Client’s products to current and potential customers.
  • Build relationships with existing key accounts (Hornbach, OBI, Praktikar etc.).
  • Support and drive promotional activity to increase sales to Implement a clear plan with customers to improve sales.
  • Support and drive marketing activity to increase sales and drive new product initiatives.
  • Identify and build relationships with target customers.
  • Maintain sales volumes and margins in line with budgeted targets.
  • Identify product opportunities through customer enquiries and demand, reporting back to the business pertinent competitor activity and changes in market trends.
  • Resolve customer issues and complaints in conjunction with relevant Department.
  • Prepare action plans and schedules to identify specific areas of growth within existing and target customers.
  • Follow up and convert new leads and referrals resulting from field/marketing activity.
  • Identify and resolve customer concerns and then drive further activity within said customer.
  • Drive and maintain all activity via our Client’s CRM and be a key driver within the business on this platform.
  • Participate in marketing events such as seminars, trade shows and telemarketing events as required.
  • Participate in company critical activity if required such as new business rollout/range review rollout or stock take when required.

 

Experience & Education

  • Proven track record of selling into Distributors across various categories (Retail, DIY, Online retailers), ideally including national chains with multiple sales channels.
  • Ability to demonstrate an analytical approach to increase sales.
  • Ability to influence customers at all levels (buyers, directors, branch managers).
  • Sales and training experience, with an emphasis on physical demonstrations and feature and benefit discussion.
  • Good general education with a demonstration of language and numeracy capabilities.
  • Computer literate (All windows packages as well as competent CRM usage).
  • Ideally educated to Degree Level in Business Administration, Finance, Sales or similar.
  • Native German fluent in both Written & Spoken English.

Person Specification

In order to succeed in this role, you will need to be self-motivated with the desire to achieve goals and possess the ability to generate and convert business leads into sales.

Knowledge of the Retail Distribution / DIY route to market is essential along with previous experience in product supply chain at Key Account level.

You will also need a full driving license

 

Training
