Job Title              Facade Thermal Engineer – London
This role is ideal for a competent thermal modeller who enjoys stitching FEA analysis together. We’re looking for someone who has mid-level experience in the modelling of thermal dynamics within the building industry. An appreciation of context and the nature of desktop analysis, including limitations and real world applications would be helpful, but we can help across the varied facade typologies during your career should this experience not be comprehensive.

- The engineering of multiple materials such as stainless-steel, aluminium, titanium, weathering steel, zinc, lead, granite, marble, limestone,
- sandstone, clay ceramics, concrete, ultra-high performance and fibre
- reinforced concrete, glass, timber, bricks and any material of your choice.
- Multi-regional wind loading assessments to local codes and standards. Multi-regional thermal assessments to local codes and standard.
- Review of contractor details and supporting calculations.
- Engineering assessments of;
- Rainscreen support structures
- Pressure equalised unitised curtain walling design
- Stick system glazing suites
- Window walling
- Sheet material
- Bomb blast analysis (Not essential)
- Point fixed glazing suits
- Cable tension net
- Fatigue calculations
- Structural silicone design
- Comprehensive understanding of U.K and European building codes.
- Inspecting facade structures
- Review of manufacturing processes
- Understanding of thermal principles in respect to facades

Qualifications
- UK driving licence
- A relevant degree or equivalent certification

Day-to-day
- Report writing and professional presentation
- Understanding of facade construction and typologies
- Review of sub-contractors
- Technical Submittals
- Sound comprehension of facade materials
- Appreciation of non-UK centric facade design (not essential)
- Ability to communicate facade design with clients’ and multiple trades
- Enjoys international travel (not all the time)
- Technical Note writing
- Specification writing
- Attending meetings on behalf of the business
