Job Description

Our client is a leading Timber Merchant and due to expansion they are seeking a BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER to promote their high end Timber & Timber Products in Northern England. This role requires an experienced sales person that has comprehensive knowledge of the Timber / Timber Products UK Markets and the desire to develop & grow sales through existing & new customers.

 

 

Reporting to: BRANCH MANAGER  

As BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER you will be responsible for proactively driving sales growth by continually looking to build and maintain relationships with both new and existing customers for exciting sectors including Timber & Builders Merchants, Shopfitters, Construction Companies, Joinery Manufacturers and Developers

 

Key Responsibilities -BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

  • Drive sales to ensure that your Team achieve sales targets, volume & margin targets
  • Make proactive sales calls to both new and existing clients
  • Meet and exceed Sales Targets
  • Liaise with supply chain team & supplier
  • Quoting and costing customer requirements
  • Understanding customer needs and requirements, research accounts, identify key players
  • Maintain & expand your database
  • Create monthly reports for the Management Team

 

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required  

  • Face to face selling and negotiation skills
  • Experience within the Timber / Timber Products Sector
  • Strong presenting skills
  • Self motivated with the ability to work with a minimum of supervision
  • Effective communication skills
  • Customer focused with sound commercial skills.
  • Good IT skills & PC literate and experience with Microsoft Outlook
