Job Description

We are retained by an innovative manufacturer and supplier of specialist Plumbing solutions, who due to continued growth, are seeking to recruit a professional Area Sales Manager to join their team covering the South of England.

Our Client’s products are high quality, innovative and competitively priced which along with their focus on customer service make them a market leader across the globe. They have a very successful business in the UK and are looking to now move to the next level and grow more UK market share.

The Role

Our Clients are looking to recruit an experienced sales professional to work alongside the Specification team and to manage the order through the sales process. This will be primarily dealing with the M & E Contractors and also provide the line of support between the chosen contractor and the dedicated merchant.

Reporting To

National Sales Manager

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a business plan for Key Account development
  • To contact all contacts on the company database on a regular basis
  • Ensure all leads are followed up
  • To develop productive and strong business relationships across the client base including National and Independent Merchants, Distributors and Contractors on the given area
  • To be aware of market activities and competitors product offerings
  • Organise and conduct full training and support when applicable to Merchants/Contractors


  • Knowledge & experience of working within the Plumbing, Pipes, Sanitaryware, M & E industries would be advantageous
  • Previous experience in a Technically led sales role or Engineering position would be advantageous

Qualifications required

Ideally, the successful candidate will be educated to HNC level, but is not essential; you must be able to demonstrate at least 3 years relevant experience in selling/dealing with M & E Contractors/Merchants
